Violence in the workplace has long been an issue for managers to deal with. Unlike other workplace safety issues, the dramatic nature of the events makes them difficult to prepare for. The causes of workplace violence are many and varied. However, the chances of having a workplace violence incident in your facility will be greater when there is a hostile atmosphere. High stress workplace environments also lead to work place violence issues.

Once a business grows from the initial start up phase and takes on more employees, formal procedures become more important. Health and safety, recruitment and disciplinary policies must all be formally documented and communicated to employees. To help formulate and implement these policies a company should form an internal Risk Management Team or use the services of specialist consultants.

Domestic tension can lead to stress related disorders in the minds of children. When this continues in the household, children become susceptible to physiological and psychological imbalances later on in life, along with inappropriate behavior and character development. As adults we must carry ourselves as intelligent people especially when we have children at home and protect them from the ill effects of stress.
