As I am sure you are aware, February is African-American History Month in the United States. This is the time of year when most schools will present some program to their students discussing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and maybe Rosa Parks. However, there are many unsung heroes of the Civil Rights Movement and many contributions made by Blacks historically, that impact our society today.

Self-Respect is a product of being granted rights like anybody else. Self-respect is understood here as the ability to perceive oneself as a morally responsible individual whose actions are respected by others. Recognition through the granting of rights by legal systems is thus the second form of recognition that is vital for the development of one's positive self-relations and identity.

I know that this attorney general has only been in office less than a year and that he is, and was, a very strong supporter of the President. It does not mean that he can give him a free pass on some of the things this President has done and proposed to do. No one has the right to block any groups right to assemble, carry on meetings, and to try and right some wrongs they see happening.

Politics and religion are those two areas that intellectuals always try to keep from their public conversations as proof of their intelligence. However, karma doesn't always work that simply; there could be other reasons their unions aren't legally recognized.
